Chlorella
Chlorella vulgaris
Also known as: Green Algae, Freshwater Algae
Overview
A single-celled green algae with exceptional heavy metal binding capacity. Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF) supports cellular repair while the cell wall chelates lead, mercury, and cadmium.
Proposed mechanism
Broken cell wall binds to heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic) in the gut and bloodstream via porphyrin groups, enabling urinary/fecal elimination. CGF promotes mitochondrial protein synthesis.
Mechanisms describe how researchers think a compound may act, often from laboratory work — a proposed mechanism is not proof of a clinical effect in people.
