About us

A new organization, saying so plainly.

The veteran suicide crisis is not only a mental-health crisis — it has biological drivers that conventional care often overlooks. We address root causes, in community.

Operation Whole Health's IRS 501(c)(3) status took effect on March 2, 2026. We are one founder and a small circle of volunteers. We have no audited outcomes, no Form 990 on file yet, and no veterans-served figure we would defend in public — so you will not find one on this site.

Our mission

Why this exists.

Military service places measurable stress on several body systems at once — sleep, endocrine function, the gut, respiratory tissue, and the neurological effects of blast exposure and head injury. Those do not happen in isolation, and they are rarely treated as connected.

Medical care is built to diagnose and treat conditions one at a time, and it does that well. What it rarely has room for is the slower work: sleep, nutrition, exposure history, daily routine, and someone checking in on you. That is the part we took on.

We are a complement to that care, never a replacement for it. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and nothing we publish should be used to delay seeing a clinician.

What we stand for

Four rules we hold ourselves to.

Root cause first

We look at what led to a condition, not only how it presents. That means sleep, exposure history, nutrition and stress get taken as seriously as symptoms.

Human above all

Every veteran is a whole person, not a diagnosis. Nothing here asks you to identify yourself before it helps you.

Cite it or drop it

Claims carry a source, or we label them as an open question. Where we have been wrong before, we say so rather than quietly editing.

Community powered

Recovery happens alongside other people. The peer program exists because one veteran telling another the truth does something no page of research can.

Who runs this

Michael Andrew Feller Jones

Founder & Executive Director

Michael founded Operation Whole Health after watching his father — a Vietnam veteran — decline after service, and seeing how little of that decline anyone treated as connected.

He is not a physician, and this organization does not practise medicine. What it does is read the research carefully, write it down in plain English, keep the directories current, and put veterans in touch with people who have been where they are.

On our advisory bodies

We are recruiting a medical advisory board and a veteran community council. Until those seats are filled by named people who have agreed to serve, we are not going to list them — an advisory board that exists only on a website is worth nothing to the veteran relying on it.

Partners

Still building these.

We are in conversation with veteran service organizations, clinics, and researchers about working together. We will name partners here when there is a signed agreement to point at — not before. A logo wall is easy to build and tells you nothing.

If your organization serves veterans and you want to talk, we would genuinely like to hear from you.
